The UK may impose a plastic packaging tax, and e-commerce is expected to suffer.

On Wednesday (November 22), Britain will announce its fiscal budget for 2018, and people are predicting that the chancellor of the exchequer, George Oppens, will take this opportunity to impose a plastic packaging tax to reduce the consumption of disposable plastic goods. For electric providers, the most affected ones are foam packaging, plastic mail bags and bubble mats.
The problem with plastic bags is that they are inexpensive but usually disposable, causing a lot of waste and environmental pollution. Almost every day in the Internet era, express delivery has arrived at people's homes. Some customers may keep strange boxes or foam bags for wrapping Christmas gifts, but most of the bags are thrown into the dustbin.
Some supporters of green packaging are bullish on the move, noting that the UK has imposed a 5 Penny plastic bag tax since 2015 and that the use of plastic bags has dropped by 80% so far. It can be seen that if this is used in plastic bags, it will have the same effect.
Greenpeace said: "We call on big companies to take action to reduce the use of plastic bags and stop producing too many disposable plastic bags. At the same time, we call on governments to take action to solve this problem by establishing closed-loop systems to recycle and reuse materials, rather than wasting them.
But some small entrepreneurs are not optimistic. They believe that disposable plastic packaging tax will increase the cost of e-commerce, and the cost will either damage their interests or transform pressure into customers. Although there are other packing fillers, such as crumpled paper, it is usually not as convenient as bubble film and less protective to fragile goods.
